The fashion guru Yves Saint Laurent died in Paris today. At 71 the designer, who retired in 2002, had been serving from a long time illness. Valerie Steele, director of the Museum at FIT says Yves Saint Laurent was “unquestionably the greatest designer” from the 1950’s to 2000.

Yves Saint Laurent was plagued for many years by drug and alcohol addictions, and depression. The cause of the famous designer’s death has not been released but it could have something to do with those conditions.

Just about anyone famous who dies gives rise to a bunch of “you should take better care of yourself” kinda fads, trends what ever you want to call them. Watch, friends will find out that Yves Saint Laurent was on the ??? diet and everyone will flock to adopt that diet because he did so well with it… uh hello…he’s dead! Same with exercise. There’ll be more people jogging, walking or signing up for the gym this week than usual.

The good news with this fitness craze diet fad will be that it will be over soon and we can all get back to eating twinkies and sitting on the couch watching The Alaska Experiment!
