Facestat.com (not to be confused with faceSAT.com…NOT what you’re looking for!) is definitely not for the “thin-skinned” or the sensitive types that don’t like to hear the truth. The results returned by facestat are a sometimes brutal assessment of that the average person might think of your looks.
And how can knowing or hearing this sort of feedback affect your self esteem? We know that low self esteem can ruin your life and the way you think about yourself determines to a large extent how you relate to other people. So could it be bad to hear such a brutal assessment of your looks from facestat? Is it worth the risk to your self esteem?
Many people spend their whole lives, not to mention hundreds of thousands of dollars, trying to improve their self esteem when in reality all you have to to is stop thinking that the world is closing in on you and decide that you WILL achieve what you desire. Other people are not to blame for your misfortunes and the problems of the world are not your own. You are your own problem! This is the beginning to improving self esteem. All that sites like facestat.com (again, NOT faceSAT.com !) do is indulge your need for validation by someone else. Be happy with yourself and your self esteem will shoot through the roof!
From the moment you decide these things, your self esteem can begin to improve. By simply thinking the right way and being determined to succeed, you will…and that will improve your self esteem. I was watching poker on TV last night and one of the players folded with a full house. He had his opponent beaten with that hand but the other player has so successfully bluffed him throughout the whole game that he was convinced he could not win…even with a full house.
Our self esteem can be like that sometimes. When we are mere inches away from success, our own lack of self esteem tells us we will fail and so we give up to prevent “yet another in a long string of failures.” That’s just poor self esteem talking and you need to get over it…and like Mike says… Just Do It!
