You know, I’ve been “connected” now for almost 14 years. I got my first real email address in 1995 and I’ve flown millions of miles since then on lots of different airlines and frankly, I’ve enjoyed the “unconnected” state that comes with being on the plane. You know, “please turn off all electronic devices and cell phones” used to mean a little peace and quite, at least for the couple of hours your flight lasted. Well, no more if you fly JetBlue!

JetBlue started offering limited Wi-Fi connectivity on some of its flights a few months ago. Originally the JetBlue offering only allowed users to check email servers of Yahoo! and RIM’s Blackberry. Well, now JetBlue has gone and done it and expanded their offering by allowing access to Google, MSN, and AOL email servers.

So now when you’re jetting off to your next vacation on the Mexican Rivera you can fly JetBlue and in addition to getting the lowest fares to your vacation destination, you can now fly with wi-fi access to your email and totally ruin your vacation by not unplugging … but then that’s your choice i guess, and if you choose to do so fly JetBlue!

JetBlue are just appealing to the markets needs. I love turning off my phone when I fly but as Jetblue surely know its a pain to then land and turn on the phone and have 20 messages that you now need to answer. It will save so much time when more airlines like JetBlue start offering full wi-fi.
